Dr. Robert t. jimmerson

Board Certified Family Physician

Q:  Tell us a little about yourself

A: I am a Board Certified Family Physician. Have been practicing in the Little Rock area over 21 years. Married to my college sweetheart for 28yrs. We have two beautiful daughters that are pursuing serving others through medicine. I love helping and encouraging others.

Q: What is it that interested you in the health profession?

A:  I have always believed that being a physician/health care provider is a noble endeavor.  However, I didn’t not think I would be a physician . I really enjoyed computer programming but when I began college I discovered I loved biology. I had instructors that encouraged me to consider medicine. Never say what you will not do or that you don’t have the ability.  I am a living witness God knows what He has inside of you. His plans for our lives our much greater than ours!! The ability to help and serve people in the healing process is a blessing.

Q: What is your specialty and what made you choose it?

A: Family practice is my specialty. Most people do not know that Family Practice is a specialty. You have to do an additional 3yrs after medical school  graduation in a residency program. This is when you are a doctor in training. In order for you to be Board Certified you have to take and pass an exam which certifies you as an expert in that field. I chose Family Practice because it is so interesting on a daily to hourly basis. Each day I see infants to elderly patients men and women.

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: I  was born in Brinkley, Arkansas but raised in Pine Bluff , Arkansas. I went to  Pine Bluff High School,  University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Q: What is the one piece of health advised you would like to give to all patients?

A:  R E S T.  We need to eat healthy and exercise but rest is just as important. Our bodies need to be renewed daily if we do not, it does not perform properly and our prospective of life is distorted.

Q: What is a verse you live by?

A: Psalm 46:10  : “ Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”
